How to celebrate all year long

At the end of the year, we have so many holidays back to back it’s easy to get festive and have fun celebrating loved ones. But, once the New Year has passed and the slump of cold January hits, it’s a little harder to find a reason for unabashed joy.

But, even though the holiday season has passed, there are many other reasons to celebrate! Here are some of the ways we like to celebrate all year long.

5 events that call for celebration throughout the year

Birthdays

The number one way to celebrate all year long is birthdays, of course! No matter the age of the person who you’re celebrating, it’s nice to be recognized. You can go traditional and grab some cake, ice cream, and balloons, or do something special that you know will mean a lot to the birthday person. Everyone wants to feel loved and cared for on their birthday.

Anniversaries

There are so many different kinds of anniversaries to celebrate. From wedding anniversaries to work anniversaries to any other important yearly dates, you can never go wrong by recognizing an important person or event. Grab some cake and give the anniversary the recognition it deserves!

New Babies

Everyone loves brand-new babies. Whether it’s the first baby or the fifth, we love to celebrate the new parents and their families. After the baby is born, it’s a good time to support mom and dad. You can do that through so many ways, but food is the closest to our heart.

Be a real winner. Drop off cupcakes (or a whole homemade meal if you’re up for it!) and coffees for the new mom and dad. Unless you’re planning on doing a load of dishes or sweeping and mopping, keep your visit to a minimum. Just hit ‘em with the sweets and caffeine, admire the new baby, and get out of there!

New Job

A new job is an exciting and sometimes taxing time. Between meeting co-workers, learning the job, and understanding new responsibilities, it can be tough the first month or so. But, it’s also super exciting. You get to try new things, be part of a new environment, and, in the case the old job was crummy, there’s hope of a fresh start.

If you know someone starting a new job, this is the perfect time to spoil them and celebrate with them as they take on this new test.

Overcoming Challenges

No matter who we are or where we are in life, everyone will inevitably face a challenge during the year. Whether it’s a housing crisis, a car disaster, or the loss of a job, at some point something is going to trip us up and cause us hardship. The temporary struggle is hard, but once we’re past the bump, we should all be proud about that and celebrate our strength and tenacity.

If you’ve recently gotten past a challenge or if you know someone who has been going through a tough time and recently overcame their challenge, now is a good time to celebrate. Go out to eat, splurge on a new pair of shoes, or take a weekend trip to a destination stop. Whatever you do, treat yourself or whomever to something that will bring smiles and relief after the storm.

That’s our list of things we like to celebrate throughout the year. What are some ways you have fun and stay festive throughout the year? Let us know how!
